Naturopathic doctors are general and specialty doctors who address the underlying cause of disease through effective, individualized natural therapies that integrate the healing powers of body, mind and spirit.

Naturopathic doctors are unique in providing diagnosis* and treatment that bridges both conventional and natural medicine perspectives; they integrate scientific research with the healing powers of nature.

The goal of a naturopathic doctor is to employ therapies that support and promote the body’s natural healing processes, leading to the highest state of wellness.

In Massachusetts it is recommended that all patients have a primary care physician who can order labs, diagnose, prescribe drugs and facilitate hospital admission if necessary-

*Naturopaths are not legally permitted to act in this capacity in Massachusetts at this time.

Insurance companies :
Vermont - Dr. Abele is in network with BC/BS and Cigna but it is still important to check with your individual plan for coverage as they are often policy specific.
Massachusetts - This state has not granted licensure for Naturopathic Doctors therefore insurance coverage is unpredictable. It is necessary to check your individual policy to determine coverage.
